Aprilia Heads to Windy City: Chicago International Motorcycle Shows

Aprilia to 2018 Chicago International Motorcycle Shows

Last year, Aprilia USA returned to the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows. The show in Long Beach - the first of seven in the IMS 2017/2018 schedule - was a success for the company out of Noale, Italy.

Now, Aprilia brings its performance-breed machines to the Windy City for the Chicago International Motorcycle Show February 9-11. We’ll have our entire 2018 lineup on display, highlighted by our revamped sport models—the RSV4 and Tuono V4—and the all-new Dorsoduro 900 and Shiver 900 sport nakeds.

Last year, Aprilia updated its superbike lineup, offering the RSV4 RR ABS and the updated RSV4 RF ABS, which arrives with Ohlins suspension and forged wheels, along with Superpole graphics.

Both the RSV4 RR and RF were spoken highly about from the world’s top moto journalist, who tested the bike at Circuit of the Americas, the Texas F1 and MotoGP circuit. For more, read 2017 Aprilia RSV4 | What the Media Says.

The motorcycle media also provided positive input about the revamped Tuono V4 1100, which is available as an RR or Factory, the latter upgraded with Ohlins suspension. The largest updates of the 2017 Tuono lineup were the addition of cornering ABS, a quick shifter with clutchless downshifts, cruise control and a TFT display.

As for the already-popular Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 and Shiver 900, both grew up last year. The 750cc 90-degree v-twin grew to 900cc, the platform now creating 95 horsepower @ 8750 rpm, and 66 ft/lbs of torque @ 6500 rpm.

For participants, IMS offers free gear check, the popular Kid’s Zone presented by Allstate, a Stunt Show, the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show, and the Marketplace presented by Cycle Gear.

The Chicago IMS show is the sixth of seven across the United States.
