Aprilia HSBK Racing had a productive two-days during the MotoAmerica Preseason Test at Circuit of the Americas in Austin last week. From the first session, the team showed that they will be at the front of the Superstock 1000 pack this season.
Wednesday was only the second time the team was all-together. HSBK rider, Claudio Corti used the day to get better acquainted with the RSV4 as he had only ridden the Aprilia once before during an early March test. Corti consistently ran the fastest Superstock 1000 times in all four sessions and finished with the fourth overall time ahead of not just his class, but a large field of Superbike riders as well.
On Thursday, the team worked on different suspension and electronics settings. They continue to work on the development of the bike and find improvements to the setup. The two sessions that Corti went out on Thursday he was the second fastest Superstock 1000. Overall, he was less than a half second behind the leader.
Claudio shared his thoughts on the weekend, "It was good, but it will take time to really make everything seamless. I’ve never ridden on K-Tech Suspension, never ridden the RSV4, the Dunlop's are different than the ones I’ve run before, and building a strong relationship with my crew chief and crew will take some time. Once we are all running like a machine I know it will be an unbelievable season.”
