SAVADORI BRINGS HOME AN EXCELLENT SECOND PLACE AND LEADS THE CHAMPIONSHIP
KEVIN CALIA PUTS IN A GREAT FIRST PERFORMANCE AT PORTIMÃO
Portimão (Portugal), 7 June 2015 - The Aprilia RSV4 ridden by Savadori brought home an excellent result. The Nuova M2 Racing rider passed a true test of strength, determined never to throw in the towel before passing under the chequered flag. At the start the rider from Cesena placed all the rest behind the exhaust of his Aprilia RSV4 RF, leading the race for a long time. He didn't lose his head when he was overtaken by Tamburini and he successfully defended second place in a heated battle against De Rosa.
LORENZO SAVADORI: “I'm very happy with the way this weekend finished because it was very difficult for us. In the race we had big problems with grip, probably because of the heavy showers that fell during the Superbike race. I am very happy with second place because it is the result of the entire team's hard work. The season is still long and we have a good 25 point advantage! I want to thank the entire Nuova M2 Racing team, Aprilia and my staff.”
Kevin Calia got off the line well from the eleventh spot on the grid and joined the following group immediately, managing to move up into seventh place. Kevin stayed extremely focused without taking any pointless risks astride his RSV4.
KEVIN CALIA: “I got off the line well and I am pleased with the way I finished the race! The first laps could have been very risky and I chose to watch my rivals and wait a few laps. It's a shame because I lost a bit of time and at the end of the race I was lapping with the same times as the leaders, but it is always difficult when you start from behind. We'll try to redeem ourselves at the Misano round where, unlike here, I know the track well and I'll try to start from farther forward. I would like to thank Aprilia racing, the entire Nuova M2 Racing team and all my followers.”
