Race 2: De Angelis 8th after a great comeback

The Team Iodaracing leaves the Motorland de Aragon with the best result for the season 2016 with the eighth place obtained by Alex De Angelis in Race2, while Lorenzo Savadori is eleventh.
The second race of the weekend at Aragon has scored the decisive steps forward for Alex and Lorenzo, thanks to some changes to the bike set-up, De Angelis and Savadori were also able to lower the gap on the first of more than ten seconds than Race1.
The race comeback of Alex De Angelis was the surprise of the weekend. The rider from San Marino, who was to address the Round of Aragon carefully after the surgery on his right arm a little over a week ago, has managed - in Race2 - to climb the positions from sixteenth on the grid until a strong eighth finish.
Even Lorenzo Salvadori's Race2 at Aragon was positive. The rookie in Superbike has worsened its position to the finish line than the race on Saturday, but he is closer to the first than in Race 1.

"This week end should have been races of physiotherapy but especially Race 2 has become a race entirely positive. What we need to do is kilometers and for that I would not have missed for any reason the appointment of Aragon, even after the surgery on the arm. Today we made a very risky move on the chassis set up, so we knew ours would have been a race where we had nothing to lose, but the changes made were really positive and helped us to know the bike better. I'm so glad to have run a good comeback getting the best result of the season. The race was very nice, I'm just sorry to be so far behind on the starting grid, otherwise my pace could afford to do even better in terms of result. I want to thank addition to the team who did also a good job over the weekend Dr. Guido Staffa who made the surgery on my right arm allowing me to run in this race at this level".

"It was a race was quite positive especially for the fact that I've gained over ten seconds in terms of gap to the front riders. We are still working on the best set up. We know it is not easy but I'm sure that with the good work the boys of Iodaracing doing and the Aprilia stuff we can continue to get better and better. My goal is to improve with every exit on track and although this time it was not for the position, it was for detachment, we go on like this".

Race 2: Savadori is 10th at the finish line

The first of the Aragon race weekend ended with good results for Lorenzo Savadori and Alex De Angelis, who crossed the line in tenth and eleventh place respectively, fighting among themselves.
The Savadori and De Angelis race was different, but the two Ioda riders have found themselves fighting for tenth position in the closing stages of Race 1, finishing sprint. Lorenzo Savadori who started from the fourth row with the twelfth time obtained in Superpole 2, has had some grip problem that forced him to recover positions after a good start. The reigning Superstock Champion had won once in tenth place but his Aprilia RSV4 RF, with lap after lap, started to move a lot, causing him to lose some positions.
Alex De Angelis it was, instead, a race of study. The San Marino rider that only a week ago was undergo in a surgery for his right arm, started from the sixth row with the sixteenth time, and at the traffic lights off, he could make up some places immediately. Unfortunately De Angelis, who had prepared his attack on Savadori, doesn't recognise to be on the last lap because of poor visibility of his blackboard exposed in a very busy part of the pit wall.

"The race I expected is a little' different. We had some grip problems in the early laps, a bit' as had happened to Phillip Island. So I could not hold the position I had after the start. we had some little troubles and we must try to set us up for tomorrow. It was a difficult race, but we have the potential to do better. Being back in the top ten is a good news, I see the glass half full, all right, but we took a bit 'too much gap to the front, I think if we can make that little step more we can think of improving this result".

"It was not at all bad. I gained a few positions despite the operation arm problems. In the last laps I was a bit 'tired, I had three drivers in front of me but they were not taking a very high rate and this with a little 'grit and wickedness I have managed to pass all three then I had a problem, because my board was in the midst of many others, and I could never see how many laps were missing at the end. I didn't know to be in the last lap when Lorenzo passed me so I lost the tenth position. This will not change my life or the race today. My first goal in Aragon was to have a race that acted as physiotherapy for my arm, I made a weekend actually that allowed the team to gather a lot of data that we will use for the future".
