Superbike at Laguna Seca: unlucky Race2 for Savadori and De Angelis

The second round on the track at Laguna Seca was bitter of satisfaction for Team Iodaracing’s riders. Both Alex De Angelis and Lorenzo Salvadori did not finish the race, respectively, due to a technical problem and a fall.
Alex De Angelis, back from a crash in FP3 which had resulted in extensive damage to his Aprilia RSV4RF, was deployed for the second race at Laguna Seca thanks to the work of Iodaracing technicians who have changed the frame of his bike before the starting grid . De Angelis, however, after a few laps went straight to Laguna Seca curve number two for a malfunction of the front brake that has not allowed him to resume the race.
Different fate in Race 2 for Lorenzo Savadori. The Iodaracing Team rookie crashed a few laps of the race restarted stop following the fall of Szkopeck. Savadori, who had got away well at the start of the second start, was in fifth place behind Nicky Hayden, when he slipped.
After the round at Laguna Seca, the Iodaracing pilots, Lorenzo Savadori and Alex De Angelis, are in ninth place respectively with 110 points and in sixteenth position with 56 points. The next races of the World Superbike World Championship will be held on the track EuroSpeedway Lausitzring next 17 and 18 September.

"I do not know why but I slipped. Now we will try to understand what has happened. I was pushing but I did not expect what’s happened, because I did not feel at the limit. Both the first and the second start of Race 2 I was with Hayden, as in Race 1, but with a faster rhythm that I could keep thanks to the changes we made today. I just had to be careful for the tyre drop, but seemed all in all better than yesterday. Unfortunately it went like this and I fall. The weekend was also positive, too bad for this race 2. Too bad because it could be another good race, I think that I could not get to the podium, but at least I could fight to stay in the first five".

"The fall of this morning was an unluck event, but in the end it did not happen anything serious, because I fell for not going into the barriers, not when I was on the track. The start of Race 2 was not beautiful like yesterday because Lowes started a little bit earlier according to me and I nearly was going to make a jump start too, but in the end I managed to keep my position. In the first lap I had a good feeling, so much so that my time was already lower than yesterday’s race and thanks to this I managed to pass Lowes before the end of the lap. I thought that even today there are all prerequisites for doing even better than yesterday. Unfortunately under braking in the second curve the lever came down, I could not stop myself and went straight. I tried to pump and pressurize the system before returning and make my race, but apparently there was nothing to do and I had to retire. A shame".
