The track at this circuit is characterised by an uphill straight stretch more than 1 km long, abrupt inclination changes and very fast, blind and demanding turns like the "Arrabbiata 1" and the "Arrabbiata 2". Also noteworthy is the Casanova-Savelli, a right/left downhill chicane which is a very important factor for lap times. Another fundamental point is the "San Donato" turn, the first on the track (located at the bottom of the straight stretch mentioned above), where braking as late as possible is important. Not far from the current installation was the famous Mugello street track, where car races were sporadically from 1914 to 1970.
