Superstock 1000 at Imola: Roberto Tamburini rides his Aprilia RSV4 to the front of the pack in qualifying
Team Aprilia Nuova M2 Racing hit the bullseye it has been aiming for since the season start with a pole position for Roberto Tamburini on his RSV4 RF, the result of the entire team's hard work. In the time of need, they were punctual, precise and as coordinated as a symphony orchestra.
After a harmless crash, the rider from Rimini managed to get back to the garage with all the mechanics lined up along pit lane awaiting his arrival. They skilfully and quickly completed a job that was planned out to the smallest detail, sending Roberto Tamburini back out on the track where he was able to take pole position in the few minutes left on the clock.
Kevin Calia was forced to abort his last lap due to a red flag just as he was improving his times with the first row within a shout. He finished with an excellent fifth place that bodes well for the race tomorrow.
