Superbike at Imola: the rookie Savadori again in SP2

Lorenzo Savadori made the most of the knowledge of the previous seasons track in Superstock and good base set-point of his Aprilia RSV4 RF to center the goal of access to Superpole 2 by closing the FP2 with the ninth fastest time in 1.48.520 . The reigning Stock 1000 Champion has registered one of the best top speeds of FP2 in 289.8 Km/h.
A bit more difficulties for Alex De Angelis on his return to the track after the accident in the Netherland’s Race2 warm-up which cause rupture of the extensor tendon of the little finger of his left hand, now in recovery. The rider from San Marino had to regain confidence with the track of Imola, where he rode last time in 1999. At the end of FP2, De Angelis clocked the seventeenth lap time in 1.49.649. For De Angelis, the goal is to seek a better set-up of his Aprilia RSV4 with RF data acquired in the two free practice sessions today.

"For me that today was a good day because we managed to get in SP2. What we need to do now is to try to solve those little problems we had when we used the soft tire, but it must be said that when I used that tire I also found a lot of traffic and therefore are not able ride as fast I wanted to. Now what interests us most is to work for the race, because in Netherlands in Race 1 we had some trouble, so now with all the data we have acquired we have to work in this way. however, I must emphasize my satisfaction in the work done by the team and Aprilia".

"Today for me it was a difficult day as forecasted. I have difficulties in driving because they are forced to bend the little finger, so I can hardly keep the handlebar with only three fingers. Driving in this manner is not impossible but it’s a bit ‘strange, I have to get used to, because in this circuit there are many chicanes and so I think tomorrow it could already be better. Despite this we worked a lot on the bike even removing the power to the bike for the wheeling issue, but tonight we’ll try to look at the data to find a solution to use all the horsepower into my Aprilia".
