LORENZO SAVADORI CONFIRMS HIS LEADERSHIP WITH A MAGNIFICENT WIN AT IMOLA.
KEVIN CALIA FINISHES IN THE POINTS FOR HIS HOME RACE.

Imola (Italy), 10 May 2015 - On his Aprilia RSV4 RF Lorenzo Savadori takes the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit at Imola by storm with a fantastic victory in Superstock 1000 FIM Cup. The rider from Cesena led the race from the second lap to the end, pushing hard until the penultimate lap to then manage the advantage he had accumulated. Savadori leads the championship with a full 25 points over the second place rider after just three races.

Lorenzo Savadori: “This win was fantastic! It is a great satisfaction to achieve the goal we set for ourselves after some hard teamwork. I started well and in the first lap I was already second behind my team mate Kevin. I had a good pace and I was able to show that for most of the race. Then in the last lap I settled in and managed my advantage. This is a very difficult and tricky track where my team was able to figure out what my needs were, preparing an RSV4 RF for me that let me win! I would like to dedicate this win to a very dear friend's father who passed away this week and I'm sure he helped me win. I want to thank the entire Nuova M2 Racing team, Aprilia Racing and all my friends and fans who came out to Imola to support Aprilia and see this amazing race.”

Kevin Calia, after a masterful start that placed him in the lead, ran long at the variante bassa and then, after a crash that didn't cause any damage, the rider from Imola still managed to get back astride his Aprilia, making up ground on the pack of pursuers and finishing a comeback race in the points.

Kevin Calia: "After a killer start I was in the lead in the race. Unfortunately I ran long at the variante bassa and then I had a crash. Fortunately I wasn't hurt at all. I picked up the bike and was able to restart. From there my slow comeback began which, with a battered bike but a good pace, let me finish in the points. It was great to see all my friends who came out to cheer me on. We really had a good time and I would have liked to have given them a fun time! I'll keep training so that I can try to redeem myself in two weeks at Donington Park.”
