Superbike at Donington: Lorenzo Savadori close to the podium in Race2
The second race of the seventh round of the Superbike 2016 has ended with a stunning fourth place finish by Lorenzo Savadori riding the Aprilia RSV4RF, while Alex De Angelis has finished in the points in fifteenth position.
Lorenzo Salvadori, who started from the front row with the third fastest time achieved in SP2, has managed to stay with the front group after the lights went out starting his battle with Nicky Hayden and Davide Giugliano for fourth place. After passing the Ducati rider on lap three, Savadori tried to maintain contact with Hayden, managing eleventh lap to pass the former world champion of MotoGP to get in the hull on the hunt for Chaz Davies, and the third position. Chase Savadori toward Davies lasted throughout the second half of the race, in which the Iodaracing rider lapped consistently stronger than the first step in 1.28.3. Arrived about a second off Ducati Davies, Savadori crossed the line in fourth place, demonstrating its maturation process in the Superbike race in a tirade and not easy.
The second race of the British Round is not entirely satisfactory for Alex De Angelis. The San Marino rider has had some difficulty riding his Aprilia RSV4RF because of a different set up than in Race 1. De Angelis struggled to the fifteenth position with the German rider Reiterberger throughout the race, managing to close in points.
The Team will Iodaracing with its riders will test at Misano next June 1 to prepare the race to be held in two weeks on the Marco Simoncelli circuit.
