Built in 1999, the Sepang circuit is the home of the Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix, but it is also used for other car and motorcycle races, including the Superbike World Championship. It is just a short distance from the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, in the Sepang district of the State of Selangor. The main circuit is characterised by very pronounced turns and two long and wide straights, joined together by a very slow hairpin good for overtaking.
