APRILIA AT THE PHILLIP ISLAND ROUND

The MotoGP championship heads to one of the most alluring circuits on the calendar. Phillip Island, with its breathtaking scenery and unique atmosphere, is a unlike any other track in the world. Its twisting and fast layout, full of slope changes, always makes for spectacular races and is unanimously popular with the riders.

It is precisely these characteristics that make it particularly tricky in terms of finding the right setup, which must guarantee maximum performance with an eye to the best possible tyre operation. For this purpose, an additional session will be held on Friday, dedicated to testing a new Michelin rear option. Weather permitting, given the forecast that calls for rain and strong wind.

ALEIX ESPARGARO'

"In Japan I really had a good race in the race and throughout the weekend and even in the warm up I was always in the top ten. It’s a pity that we had a problem, but that’s all part of racing. Phillip Island is a good circuit for us and I have always been competitive here with the RS-GP. We also need to see what the weather does, since the forecast is talking about rain and wind, but it could be a favourable weekend."

ANDREA IANNONE

"It’s clear that the Motegi weekend was not an easy one. We are a team and we work together toward the same goal. Our focus is on this race and on the season finale. The feeling with the bike in warm up and at the start of the race was not bad. I hope to be able to confirm that here at Phillip Island as well."
