Aprilia Sport Production, the pre-championship test at Varano.
The Italian Aprilia Racing FMI Sport Production Championship had its on-track christening at the Riccardo Paletti circuit of Varano, where the collective pre-championship test day was held.
It was a special first moment, under the sign of an important return: thanks to collaboration with Federazione Motociclistica Italiana (Italian Motorcycling Federation), Aprilia picks up the thread of a unique history and brings back to the track that "school of champions" which has accompanied entire generations of very young talent including Max Biaggi, Loris Capirossi and Valentino Rossi.
And so, at the Emilia-Romagna circuit, the talented young riders gathered who will be on the starting grid on 18 and 19 July for the first round in Magione (PG), to then race astride the RS 250 SP for the other rounds of the championship through the end of October.
Supported by their teams, the budding champions continued testing the engine and chassis capabilities of the 250cc, consistently improving their riding feeling with the bike designed and developed by Aprilia Racing in collaboration with Ohvale.
With this goal, at Varano, the young riders took advantage of the dedicated training from FMI instructors on all kinds of handy riding and safety tips that will be extremely valuable to them in their efforts on the track.
Things will get serious from the next event: everyone will head to Umbria in mid-July for the first race weekend. Hosting the Aprilia Racing Sport Production protagonists will be the Magione circuit for an anxiously-awaited round where, in the utmost spirit of this competition, we'll see the young riders face off on a technically level playing field as early as the Saturday practice sessions.
