APRILIA BACK ON THE PODIUM WITH KEVIN CALIA, SECOND IN RACE. FOURTH PLACE FOR ROBERTO TAMBURINI
A brilliantly managed race took Kevin Calia to the second step of the podium astride his Aprilia RSV4 RF. Off the line well from the second row, he quickly engaged in a hand-to-hand battle with the riders ahead of him. In the race finale he moved into second place, but he gave up chasing down the leader in order to avoid taking too many risks.
Roberto Tamburini, starting from the fantastic pole position he earned in qualifying on Saturday, lost a few spots at the start and then, after a small mistake during the fourth lap, lost contact with the lead group. After recovering, he was still able to put in a series of fast laps in the high end of 1’49, managing to ride his Aprilia to a fourth place finish.
In the overall standings Kevin Calia is lying fourth with Roberto Tamburini eighth, catching up on the leaders. With today's podium Aprilia moves into third place in the Manufacturer standings.
