CIV - PODIUM FOR NUOVA M2 RACING WITH APRILIA RSV4 FW-STK

RACE 2
THIRD PLACE FOR ANDREA MANTOVANI AT HIS FIRST SUPERBIKE PODIUM
MATTEO BAIOCCO CRASHES WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE THE GAP BEHIND THE LEADERS
An exciting Race 2 of the Italian Superbike Racing Championship (CIV) for Nuova M2 Racing with Andrea Mantovani riding his Nuova M2 Racing Aprilia RSV4 FW-STK to a third place finish, earning his first Superbike podium.
Matteo Baiocco lost a few positions at the start and was delayed by a few slower riders. The Italian crashed on his final attempt to close the gap behind the podium contenders.

Andrea Mantovani: “A stupendous race. I managed to push hard with my Aprilia RSV4 FW-STK right from the early laps. I stayed on Ferrari's pipes, trying to ride my race and thinking of attacking him in the final laps, but in reality I felt like I was very much at the limit toward the end, so I preferred bringing home a great third place after even taking a few risks. I wish to thank Nuova M2 Racing who understood what I needed and from yesterday to today they allowed me to improve greatly. Sincere thanks also to my sponsors and motoclub Conselice. Everyone is a big help, allowing me to continue giving 100%”.

Matteo Baiocco: “It's a pity because I had a good pace. I could have battled for the podium, but starting so far back, I had to take a risk to close the gap and I crashed. I am also very sorry for team Nuova M2 Racing who worked hard all weekend to put me in conditions to be able to ride better. Congratulations to my teammate Andrea who did a great job in this fourth race of the Italian Superbike Championship”.

RACE 1
PRECIOUS POINTS FOR THE NUOVA M2 RACING RIDERS ON APRILIA RSV4 FW-STK
MATTEO BAIOCCO AND ANDREA MANTOVANI FINISH RACE 1 RESPECTIVELY FOURTH AND SIXTH
Race 1 of the second round of the Italian Superbike Championship (CIV) with the Nuova M2 Racing riders Andrea Mantovani and Matteo Baiocco starting well from the grid after respectively earning spots on the second and third row astride their Aprilia RSV4 FW-STK machines.
After the start, Matteo Baiocco soon overtook teammate Andrea Mantovani, setting off on the chase for the podium which he was unable to complete, finishing fourth.
The rider from Ferrara also took home precious points for the overall standings at the end of a smart race where he took no pointless risks. Mantovani finished sixth on the final sprint, just 38 thousandths behind the fifth place finisher.
At the end of the third race, the Nuova M2 Racing riders are in pursuit of the championship lead from seventh and fourteenth place, with Matteo Baiocco putting twenty-three points in the bank and Andrea Mantovani a bit farther back with eleven points.

Matteo Baiocco: “I would have liked to finish on the podium at all costs, although fourth place is not bad. We still need to work on our Aprilia to get a few things sorted. Battling with the leaders is difficult, but we have already improved compared to Misano and we know where to focus our attention. We are still missing a small step to be podium contenders.”

Andrea Mantovani: “It was not an easy race, especially in the early laps. With the new tyre, I took a few risks and then, once I had established my pace, I rode a good race, finishing sixth and really close to fifth on the final sprint.”
