Noale, October 27th, 2011 - One of the most heated seasons in the history of World Supermoto ended in triumph for Aprilia.
After an exciting duel which was all in the family with his brother Thomas in the last race in France, Frenchman Adrien Chareyre clinched it on his Fast Wheels Team Aprilia.
On the Cahors track Adrien squeezed the maximum from his two cylinder bike, riding it to the front from the start and winning (just ahead of his brother) the first two races. In the third race the Aprilia rider was able to settle for third place with Thomas Chareyre injured during an incident in second race. It was a third place which earned him victory in the overall standings and the rider title in front of Thomas and Ivan Lazzarini.
Thanks to the results of the riders astride the two cylinder bikes from Veneto, especially those of the World Champion from the Fast Wheels Team, Aprilia also took the final classification dedicated to manufacturers. This brings the total number of world titles Aprilia has earned in World Supermoto to 7.
With this affirmation Aprilia updates its extraordinary collection which now boasts an amazing 48 world championships between rider and manufacturer titles: 9 championships in off-road disciplines, 2 world titles in Superbike and an incredible 37 championship titles in MotoGP where it is the most victorious Italian and European brand of those in activity.
